SOC 381 - Doing Survey Research in the Social Sciences .This course introduces students to the basic survey methods used in the social sciences. Emphasis is on the logic of social science and the implications of the major forms of quantitative research methodology. Allows students to recognize and analyze merits of research in the social sciences including public opinion and policy action research . Prerequisites Prerequisite: SOC 201 and SOC 204. For sociology minors only: An equivalent statistics course may be substituted for SOC 204 only with the permission of the instructor. When Offered Offered in spring Notes Students will be encouraged to conduct mini-scale surveys on the campus and beyond.
