NANO 571 - Bionanotechnology This course covers the use of various nanostructures for ultrasensitive detection of DNA, bacteria and viruses. Recent techniques for detection of single biomolecules that offers superior advantages over the conventional bulk measurements will also be presented. This course will also cover the use of different nanoparticles such as nanocrystals and gold nanoparticles for optical imaging, as hyperthermia agents for cancer therapy, and the development of smart drug delivery nanocarriers.
