ECON 308 - Labor Economics The course offers a general treatment of modern theoretical and empirical labor economics. Topics to be covered include: operation of labor markets; wage determination; firm, industry and public sector labor demand; human capital investment; race and gender employment and wage discrimination; public policy effects. The relation of labor market outcomes and attendant public policy to poverty, income distribution and economic growth is covered. (The course includes community-based learning components)
Prerequisites Prerequisite: ECON 201 and 202. Credit: 3 hrs. When Offered Offered in fall and spring. (3 cr.)
