BIOL 306 - Environmental Biology of the Red Sea This course is designed to be an interdisciplinary course for students with an interest in coastal and marine environmental issues. Topics covered include marine biology, ecology, geology, paleontology, climatology, and oceanography. Using the Red Sea as a model, students will receive extensive field experience in evaluating the impact of natural phenomena and human activities on coastal and marine environmental planning, management, and monitoring, as well as in the preparation of environmental impact assessments. Prerequisites Prerequisites: students must be good swimmers and consent of the instructor. Notes Laboratories and field trips to the Red Sea are essential to the course.
