ECON 3061 - Mathematics for Economists II (3 cr.)
Prerequisites MACT 1121 or ECON 2061
Description The first part of the course is matrix algebra which covers the following: determinant, rank, matrix inverse, Cramer’s rule, eigenvalues and eigenvectors. The second part discusses multivariate functions and partial derivatives as well as unconstrained and constrained optimization. Homogeneous and homothetic properties of multivariate functions are also discussed. The third part of the course is advanced integral calculus. Economic applications are emphasized throughout the course.
