ECON 3071 - Labor Economics (3 cr.)
Prerequisites and
Description The course offers a general treatment of modern theoretical and empirical labor economics. Topics to be covered include: operation of labor markets; wage determination; firm, industry and public sector labor demand; human capital investment; race and gender employment and wage discrimination; public policy effects. The relation of labor market outcomes and attendant public policy to poverty, income distribution and economic growth is covered. (The course includes community-based learning components)
