HIST 342/3903 - History of Egypt in the Graeco-Roman Era (3 cr.)
Prerequisites and or instructor’s consent.
Description This course will study the history of Egypt in the Graeco-Roman period and the momentous confrontation between Greek and Egyptian culture between 300 BC and 700 AD. It will also examine the social consequences of the spread of Christianity in Egypt and the rise of Coptic culture.
