ARCH 000/4933 - Vernacular Architecture (3 cr.)
Description The objective of this course is to introduce students to a departure from conventional architecture to the vernacular. By exploring architecture without architects, the vernacular will be discussed not as a style or even an architectural approach, but an attitude. Using examples from different geographic regions and different historical periods, as well as contemporary interpretations, students will engage in a series of lectures, debates, research and design.
