PPAD 541/5136 - Gender in Public Policy (3 cr.)
Description The course approaches the topic of gender in public policy in three ways. We begin by exploring frameworks for thinking about both gender differences and public policy. We then examine a series of policy issues that have gendered outcomes such as access to social protection, education and employment. Finally, we consider the representation of women in the making of public policy, looking at the participation of women in electoral politics and government machinery.
