Description This course emphasizes the role of central banks, monetary tools, the banking sector and financial markets in impacting domestic macroeconomic performance and the global economy. Topics include: monetary theory; central banking; management of the banking system; financial regulations; and the interaction between monetary policy, financial markets and macroeconomic performance. The course combines theoretical formalization with empirical investigations.
