IHRL 509 - International Law


An in-depth overview of the international legal system within which the universal, national and regional systems of human rights are situated. The course will cover the fundamental concepts, institutions, processes and mechanisms of international law as they are illustrated and used by human rights. Some of the topics that will be covered include: the relationship between public and private international law, the question of sovereignty, the sources of international law, and the place of non-State actors.
