Bachelor of Arts
The History major provides students with the tools and methods necessary to study different periods and parts of the modern world chronologically, geographically, and thematically in order to make sense of the past, participate in the present, and prepare for the future. Courses teach students how to critically think, write, and speak, academically and professionally, equipping them with essential skills for any career or graduate program they pursue. History is the heart of the humanities and the cornerstone of an international liberal arts education, which shapes socially-aware and culturally-sensitive citizens of the world. Because so many of the major’s courses fulfill core and collateral requirements, it serves as an ideal double major or minor for students who want to complete their degree on time.
