Political Science, Comparative & Middle East Politics and Society (CMEPS) (M.A.)

The CMEPS MA program is offered in cooperation with the Institute of Political Science at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. Students are normally required to be enrolled full time, and the third semester of study takes place in the partner institution. The program provides in-depth knowledge of the political and societal developments in the Middle East as well as analytical tools for understanding this region’s complex dynamics and challenges. The degree focuses on the relationship between societies and states in the MENA region as well as the dynamics of social and political transformation. Upon completion of the degree, AUC students will receive a degree from the American University in Cairo and an additional certificate from the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, testifying to the coursework pursued at the university within the international structure of the program.
