The Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership is offered by the Department of International & Comparative Education, Graduate School of Education. This Diploma is designed as a one-year (two semesters) program for students who wish to enhance their qualifications or pursue an academic interest in the field of educational leadership.
Admission
Applicants must meet the same admissions requirements as those for the MA in Educational Leadership. Should a student in good standing decide during or within one semester after completion of the requirements for the Diploma that he/she wishes to work towards the MA degree, he/she may apply to transfer to the MA degree.
Courses (18 credit hours)
Course work for the Graduate Diploma requires the completion of 18 credits as follows:

EDUC 521/5202 - Social Foundations of Education (3 cr.)
EDUC 541/5204 - Human Development & Learning Theory (3 cr.)
EDUC 542/5221 - Transformative Leadership (3 cr.)
EDUC 546/5223 - Organizational Theory and Educational Institutions (3 cr.)
Electives
6 credits Required / 2 courses
Students should take two additional electives from among the 500-level courses in Educational Leadership offered by the Department that best meet their professional goals, with approval from their academic advisor.
