RHET 3340 - Making Your Case: The Art of Persuasion (3 cr.)
Prerequisites RHET 1020 or equivalent.
Description This course takes a multidisciplinary approach combining seminal historical and theoretical works with up-to-date learning tools to investigate the concept of persuasion. Students will delve into the historical development of persuasion theories, they will consider socio-economic and technological shifts in the story of humanity and their effect on rhetorical strategies over time, as well as critical approaches to current trends in communication as they relate to mass persuasion and disinformation.
