PHIL 314 - Modern Philosophy Philosophical progress played an essential role in the historical changes of the Enlightenment and the development of industrial society. This course focuses on some of the major schools and figures of Modern thought, which include Rationalists such as Descartes and Leibniz, Empiricists such as Locke and Hume, and/or pivotal thinkers such as Bacon, Rousseau, Hegel, Kant, and Marx. Prerequisites Prerequisite: Two philosophy or consent of instructor. When Offered Offered every year. (3 cr.)
