ARIC 205/2205 - The World of Islamic Architecture (3 cr.)
Description This course offers a one-semester overview of Islamic architecture, examining visual culture and its functions in the broader context of Islamic societies from Spain to India, ranging in date from the 7th century to present. It surveys major examples of architectural typologies including mosques, madrasas, palaces, and caravanserais.
