Prerequisites POLS 5203 or approval of instructor.
Description This course explores interdisciplinary and critical approaches to international relations. Critical theory in contemporary international relations has emerged as a key approach and perspective in the field and also produced stimulating formulations in other disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, history, and law. This course problematizes and interrogates the basic units of politics including concepts and notions of: the state, sovereignty, representation, nation, borders, identity, citizenship, and membership.
