MRS 528/5228 - Migration in International Law (3 cr.)
Description This course explores international law’s impact on state migration control, as well as its broader influence on the global phenomenon of migration. States and other actors have increasingly sought to manage aspects of migration at the international level to ensure orderly and humane control of population movements. This course examines the different ways in which international law engaged with migration through, amongst other things, general principles of international law, human rights and labor law, international criminal law, the laws of armed conflict, as well as trade and environmental law.
