Description This course offers an overview of international economic relations from the end of the Second World War to contemporary economic globalization and global production networks that have instituted a new international division of labor. The first portion of the course examines trade, protectionism, and monetary relations. In the second portion, students also examine the consequences of globalization in terms of new developmental opportunities; income inequality across all countries; and regulatory issues relating to labor flows, environment, and sustainability.
