POLS 414/4614 - Egyptian Foreign Policy (3 cr.)
Prerequisites RHET 1020 and POLS 4611
Description This course examines the main themes of Egyptian foreign policy from 1952 to the present. This includes: Egypt’s relations with the great powers; inter-Arab relations, the Arab League, and the Gulf Cooperation Council; the effects on foreign policy of the Arab-Israeli conflict; relations with the Non-Aligned Movement, the Islamic Conference, and the Organization of African Unity. It also covers policy concerns of the national interest including Nile waters and the Suez Canal.
