PSYC 000/4013 - Psychology of Trauma (3 cr.)
Prerequisites PSYC 1000 and junior or senior standing.
Description This course will introduce students to the psychology of trauma. The course will place emphasis on interpersonal trauma and betrayal on both the individual and institutional levels. Topics to be covered include childhood trauma, adult sexual assault, war, and domestic violence, and the perspectives of perpetrators of violence. An important focus of the course will involve considerations of how socio-political contexts affect trauma research and intervention.
