ECON 000/4015 - Quantitative Methods for Economic Development and Policy (3 cr.)
Prerequisites ECON 3081
Description This course introduces empirical frameworks and econometrics tools needed to understand and conduct research on key challenges and opportunities facing developing countries. Through guided readings, seminar discussions and a research project, students will apply key tools of econometric analysis to economic development issues of relevance, in particularly, to the MENA region. Available micro data sets and large household surveys in the region will be used to conduct in depth empirical analysis of problems such as poverty, inequality, gender discrimination, education and investment in human capital and performance of micro and small enterprises.
