PPAD 530/5152 - Conflict Management and Resolution (3 cr.)
Description This course is about the theoretical underpinnings and policy aspects of conflict management and resolution. It addresses theories of conflict and discusses concepts such as deterrence, early warning, crisis bargaining, negotiations strategies, mediation and peacekeeping. In addressing these issues, the course will examine specific processes of conflict management and/or resolution such as those of the Middle East, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sri Lanka and the policies and objectives of participant states.
