MRS 507/5200 - Introduction to Forced Migration and Refugee Studies (3 cr.)
Description This course examines the changing political, social, and legal context within which people become forced migrants or refugees. Of particular concern are policies which generate, regulate, and protect the movement of forced migrants, the interaction between national governments and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Psychosocial aspect of refugee status, and the social and cultural organization of refugee and migrant communities, including notably gender aspects and the role of children.
