MRS 512 - Psychosocial Issues in Forced Migrants The course explores the psychosocial dimensions of forced migration including ethno-cultural concepts of well-being, sources of stress and coping, the impact of forced migration on child development, psychosocial consequences of torture and sexual victimization, and the interaction of trauma and bereavement. Culturally appropriate mental health assessment, community-based intervention programs, methods of program evaluation, and ethical issues in working with refugee populations will be discussed.
