ASME Group A: PV&P 02 - Section VIII Division 2: Design and Fabrication for Pressure Vessels

Description/Outline Description

This course describes the use of alternative rules for the design and fabrication of pressure vessels given in ASME BPV Code, Section VIII, Division 2. This course offers a deep insight into the benefits of applying these alternative rules.  The course presents a brief history and background for these rules and introduces the new Class 1 and Class 2 vessel types by explaining their differences regarding their design and construction. Participants are introduced to the materials, design, fabrication, toughness, examination, inspection, testing and certification requirements with a detailed discussion making these concepts easier to grasp. Participants will understand the complex rules of the ASME Section VIII, Division 2 and how to effectively apply them. In today's increasingly competitive environment, manufacturers and designers of Pressure Vessels need to produce cost-effective, state-of-the-art products. The lower design margin of the ASME Division 2 Code vs. Division 1 makes it more competitive with other international codes. Using case studies, participants will learn how to apply the design and analysis rules.
