INDE 084 - Data Analysis Techniques


Description/Outline Data understanding and interpretation is crucial for business success and effective performance of the business functions. Data analysis is the process of systematically applying proven techniques to describe and illustrate, condense and summarize, demonstrate and evaluate masses of data. Data represents reality and various analytic procedures can be applied to provide ways for drawing inferences from data. In a very real sense if you get the data right, the rest will follow. If you get the data wrong, expected goals will be never achieved. In order for the data to be right, it must reflect how the business thinks about and uses its data. Improper collection and analysis of data distort the findings and mislead the decision makers and planners.

In this training program participants will discover how to derive technically and managerially meaningful facts from the information gathered through their data collection programs. Many quantitative and quantitative techniques will be presented and applied so that they can use to analyze data obtained from daily reports, measurements, follow-ups and control actions, surveys and external data sources.
