Eligibility Criteria for Actuarial Science Major Declaration from Within

To be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science program candidates must have completed the below criteria courses with an overall GPA of at least 3.3.

Required Courses to be completed to declare Actuarial Science as a major:

• MACT 1121 - Calculus I (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of A-
• MACT 1122 - Calculus II (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of A-
• DSCI 1411 - Fundamentals of Data Science I (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of A-

OR

• MACT 1121 - Calculus I (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of B
• MACT 1122 - Calculus II (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of B
• DSCI 1411 - Fundamentals of Data Science I (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of B
• MACT 3211  -  Applied Probability (3 cr.)  with a minimum grade of B+

Admission to the Actuarial Science major is competitive. So based on the availability of places, additional combination of discipline relevant factors and evidence of interest in the field of Actuarial Science through interviews might be used to determine acceptance into the major.
