Students applying for declaration to the Major from within AUC -by transferring from another major, seeking a double major or were admitted to AUC as undeclared students- must have completed all criteria courses, and have achieved a 2.75 minimum overall GPA to be considered for the admission process. Candidates are accepted depending on their ARCH Declaration Index score and available slots in the Major. In order to demonstrate their visualization, graphic communication and creative potential, they must achieve a minimum grade of B in each of the following courses: ARCH 1511 , ARCH 1521 , ARCH 2512 and ARCH 2551 before taking any ARCH course.
Selection of Students
Candidates who achieved a minimum Admission Index of 3.0 will be ranked according to their Admission Index score, and a limited number will be selected to fill the available slots.

Declaration GPA + An additional increment for the number of successful credits achieved prior to application (0.01 x Additional credits achieved)
Declaration GPA
Weighted GPA of the Criteria Courses + GPA of all courses taken by the candidate from the Engineering Core Requirements, Concentration Requirements; Concentration Electives of the Architecture degree.
Course Weights
Criteria course grades will carry a weight of double all other courses. Criteria Course grades will consequently count twice in this declaration GPA calculation, with all other courses being counted once.
Note: MACT 1121 , PHYS 1011 , and PHYS 1012 grades will be disregarded in the index calculation, if negatively affecting the applicant’s index.
